Happy Valentine's Day!!

I hope everyone had a fabulous day. I have a quick post to share with you tonight... a little Valentine's love I left in the teacher's lounge (at the kids' school) today  :} 

I simply covered a can of coffee with some Twitterpated DSP and card stock. The cute little coffee cup stamp is from one of the stamp sets you can get for free right now during Sale-a-Bration  -- Patterned Occasions (w:129621  c:129624) 

I used the 3-1/2" Circle die to create the perfect background to cover the lid. The heart Embosslit and Punches made it easy to add pretty details. If you don't already have the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, add it to your cart - it has 24 greetings to cover almost every occasion! 

How about a bonus project tonight??? Here's the Valentine card Aaron chose for his teacher:

He likes the images from the Up, Up & Away stamp set... but what kid doesn't like baloons???

stamping with friends

We all know how fun it is to spend time stamping with our friends. I'm not sure which is more therapeutic - the stamping or the conversation. It's been a while, but the last time my friend Dawn and I got a chance to stamp together, she inspired me to make this card: 

The focal point and the ribbon have tons of detail, so I wanted to keep the rest of the card pretty simple. I love using the Simply Scored to create fun and interesting backgrounds, that don't overpower my project.

The ribbon took care of the vertical "lines," so I used the Diagonal Plate and scored every half-inch for this background. I scored the inside of the card so that the diagonal lines would be raised (rather than dented in) on the card-front.

And here's a look at the card my talented friend Dawn created: 

She scored her card on the front, creating a more subtle texture, which is a perfect compliment to these subtle colors.
I hope you can find time this week to stamp with one of your good friends. It's usually difficult to find the time for fun with friends, but it's always well worth it!

9 year anniversary

Nine years ago today, my husband married his better half ;)
All joking aside, I am so blessed to have such a wonderful partner and best friend. Here's the anniversary card I made for him today...

I used Very Vanilla, Night of Navy, and Rose Red card stock. The two stamp sets used for this card are Grateful Greetings and Punch Potpourri. I spritzed the Night of Navy card stock with my shimmer mixture: just fill a travel sized spray bottle about half-way with rubbing alcohol, add a few drops of Shimmer Paint (I used Champagne Mist on this card), and mix. I like to spritz a light layer, let it dry a second, and add another layer. Sooooo pretty!!

Rose Red

Today's card from the Color Coach is Rose Red. The "Dynamic Duo" colors are Rose Red and Regal Rose. The "Creative Combination" colors are Rose Red, Not Quite Navy, and River Rock. The "Sweet Set" colors are Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant, and Baja Breeze. The "Sweet Set" combo is my favorite... which one is yours?
